Legacy International Center

Legacy International Center is a new landmark destination resort for the world to experience. Legacy takes guests on a journey between the tangible and intangible, through the tension between dualities of the old and new, historical representations with a modern twist. The timeless atmosphere is expressed through contemporary design elements including uniquely tailored shapes paired with extensive spans of structural glass and classic materials such as Jerusalem limestone and bronzed metal accents.

A key notion for the site’s concept was to highlight the adjacent natural hillside by treating the 18-acre campus as a themed garden. Legacy is scaled and massed to complement hillside gardens and shared public spaces. The arrangement of uniquely shaped buildings creates view corridors from the freeway to the hillside, curating memorable views of key experiential touchpoints within the resort while allowing each building to be appreciated by passersby.

Major features of the Legacy International Center include biblically-inspired gardens and architectural elements, including a welcome center and pavilion. Housed within the welcome center is an interactive museum showcasing historical artifacts and exhibits, and a 100-seat 4D theater featuring the “Wings over Israel” – a full-sensory “hang gliding” tour of Israel. The campus also includes a plaza for contemplation, prayer, and meditation that conjures Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall. Connecting the plaza and the pavilion entry is an interactive fountain showcasing water choreography in sync with an original musical score and dynamic light show.

In addition to the spiritual setting, visitors will encounter different cultures and textures from all over the world at the market arcades, with dining options and shopping evocative of the souk markets of the Middle East.  Amid the various plazas, guests can relax at the 126-unit resort hotel and spa, visit the library and prayer center, and the Legacy Pavilion’s 500-seat performance center boasting state-of-the-art audio/visual technology.

The culmination of the Legacy journey is expressed in “The Spire” which is the totem element and anchor for the campus. The focal landmark is a vertical gesture with stenciled metal panels that reveals “The Power of Words” in storytelling. The words “love, peace, and forgiveness” were chosen to deliver personal messages to each guest and are translated in 11 different languages.
