Miller Hull, San Diego Studio, Point Loma

After seven years of consequential projects and growth, our San Diego studio has come home in a big way. Our new space is in The Wharf at Point Loma Marina, one of firm’s first projects in San Diego designed by our late founding partner, Robert Hull.  Energized by our connection to the building, the firm set out to practice what we preach with the interiors by targeting Living Building Challenge (LBC) Petal certification for 2020, furthering our commitment to ecological improvement in built environments.

Growing from our 2017 Seattle studio renovation that achieved LBC Petal certification for place, materials, equity and beauty, the new San Diego studio is pursuing the same four performance areas (Petals). Beyond those, we added the Health & Happiness Petal and Energy Petal with the cooperation of our landlord, installing a 24 kW PV array to the roof and a battery backup system to achieve net-zero energy.

Celebrating the view of San Diego Bay, comfort and occupant health are at the heart of the new Miller Hull San Diego, creating a collaborative, open office setting that engages and inspires our studio and its visitors.
