Cubic Corporation

Cubic Corporation has been headquartered in San Diego for over six decades and their newly revitalized campus reflects not only the history but their strong company culture and identity. The objective was to deliver an environment respecting cost and shareholder value, while creating a modern and efficient workplace. By consolidating operations, Cubic can streamline operational processes, improve communication and cross-pollination, and renew and emphasize its brand and cultural identity. The project involved the design and construction of two three-story buildings totaling 250,000 square feet that includes office and lab space.

On the interior of the main entry, a 3-story glass atrium showcases a Cubic logo floating above the canopy to interact with the activity in the lobby and the feature stair. A strong sense of arrival is created by the presence of the 3-story feature stair that wraps the exterior glass wall and elevator core. The exterior design of the Cubic campus creates architectural variation while maintaining a unified campus identity. The design takes its cues from simple volumetric forms relating to Cubic’s branding and simplicity of architectural detailing.
