This tenant improvement project is part of Thomas Jefferson’s “Move Forward” plan, which demonstrates the law school’s commitment to providing high-quality education to its students based on three core concepts: rightsizing, reallocating, and re-positioning. The project is set in the occupied high-rise building at 701 B Street, where 47,500 square feet of space was completely renovated across three levels.
Concrete, framing and drywall, and acoustical ceilings were self-performed by Swinerton. The new basement features a library, study rooms, offices and restrooms. The first floor features a lobby, entryway and offices. The mezzanine features offices and restrooms. The second floor features classrooms, offices, atrium, break rooms, restrooms, storage rooms and IT room. A new elevator was installed and stairs were built from the basement to the second floor.
