Studios435, East Village

On a quiet street in East Village, a remarkable transformation has occurred. Once a Single Room Occupancy community with deferred maintenance, Studios435 has become the first micro-apartment community to open in downtown San Diego. Micro-apartments such as Studios435 offer furnished studios, modern amenities, and easy access to employers, nightlife, and arts and culture districts. Studios435 was designed with aesthetic, function, and location in mind. The community is helping restore the urban fabric in East Village while bridging the gap that existing multifamily projects have neglected.

Studios435 consists of two buildings, re-purposed to attract millennials and urban trend-setters. The property was acquired by FPA Multifamily in 2016, and re-opened in 2018. Retaining both building envelopes intact, the interiors have been completely redesigned. Previously offering 193 bedrooms with remote bathing facilities, Studios435 offers 86 apartments with private bathrooms and kitchenettes.

Beauty meets function at Studios435. Apartments are fully furnished and include quartz countertops, subway tile backsplashes, European cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, smart TVs, large closets, and hardwood-style flooring. The apartments feature all-inclusive utility and Smart Home packages with Amazon Echo and smart locks. Studios435 also offers an indoor/outdoor gym, communal chef’s kitchen, lounges, courtyard with Brown Jordan furniture, and laundry facilities.
