Serea Restaurant at Hotel Del Coronado

Perhaps the most famous historical landmark here in San Diego County is the Hotel Del Coronado, which has for over a century offered tourists a world class combination of exceptional hospitality and top of the line dining. The most recent restoration to the Hotel Del Coronado includes a complete renovation of the 1500 Ocean Restaurant, now called Serea. The new restaurant, which just recently opened, features fresh, coastal cuisine prepared by renowned local chef, Jojo Ruiz.

This renovation project consisted of a full demolition and remodel of the interior space, new lighting, ceiling, walls, flooring and a new fish tank display. The exterior upper and lower terrace received new roofing, along with the addition of an exterior bar. While for years the Hotel Del Coronado has been revered for its traditional, old fashioned atmosphere, the creation of Serea and modernization of the premises has been very beneficial in its effort to preserve the hotel’s legacy.

Having just been completed in the past month, these recent additions to the restaurant have shown to be just what the Hotel Del was longing for; a modern, fresh dining experience to complement its long-established significance here in San Diego.
