Qualcomm Building AZ – Pacific Center Campus

Qualcomm’s Pacific Center Campus was designed as a deeply sustainable and transformative campus from a vehicle-oriented development to a pedestrian-oriented campus environment. The overall campus design weaves together natural, free-flowing spaces with refined, public-spirited environments, which defines the new campus vision. Site design features progressive sustainable site strategies for water systems and native ecosystems. The campus plan includes a hierarchy of spaces, pedestrian connections and site amenities to knit all of the existing buildings together with the new development into a cohesive holistic campus environment

The AZ building, situated at the western side of the Pacific Center campus is woven into the landscape with its dramatic green roof where occupants can walk from grade to the elevated gardens above the conference center. The building serves as a campus amenities building for all of the occupants on the Pacific Center Campus. Within the AZ building is a state-of-the-art conference center, dining and health center. The design of the AZ building optimizes passive design strategies to achieve high-performance results with strong east/west solar orientation and narrow floor plates to promote natural ventilation and daylighting. The AZ building is truly an engaging building with it’s soccer filed on the north and its large courtyard space designed to host a wide range of outdoor events. The dining center utilizes produce from the onsite organic garden.

  • Pacific Highway Resident

I don´t understand why a landscaper would ever install grass unless it is for a playing field. This grassy area includes trees so it won´t be used for sports— what a waste of water.
