Cesar Solis Park, Otay Mesa

The 20-acre Cesar Solis Park includes a 15-acre city park as well as a five-acre joint-use ballfield shared with Ocean Views Hill Middle School. Phase one of the park (completed September 2018) included two adult softball fields, walking trails, picnic structures, passive park space, a skate plaza, a pad for a future recreation center, and a restroom storage facility with a concession stand. Artistically, the park contains strong design elements in the form of a radiating entry drive that orients park improvements with the adjacent middle school. Connections to the community include the community logo as a skate feature in the skate plaza and educational quotes, signifying the relationship between athletes, education, and exploration.
