Don’t look up!
These daring undersides make it fun to walk by this new mixed use apartment building on the bustling 30th street brewery corridor of North Park.
Local artist Brittany Segal was commissioned to use two of her pieces to bring life to the large overhangs of the Earnest.
The green/white texture is an acrylic painting on a 5′ x 8′ canvas.
the Orange/red pattern is actually a 4″x6″ postcard sized ‘love letter’ to her ex using a micro-pen on paper.
Each piece was enlarged 500-800 times its original scale and embossed on aluminum panels and attached to the undersides of roof overhangs and balconies.
The result is a colorful playful composition that brings another layer of sophistication to this already bold new structure.
