In order to maximize occupancy, BASILE Studio collaborated with the owner to design+fabricate a functional flip-window system that serves as a dining surface when open. A back-lit, elevated sidewalk cafe features a rotating shade system for adjustable coverage and sliding, rail-mounted seating for flexible seating arrangements. Custom stools were also design to account for the difference in elevation inside+outside the building.
The custom window system + sidewalk cafe more than doubled the restaurants capacity.
BASILE also custom fabricated a perforated brass bar top with integrated drainage which functions as an eating surface at the bar as well.
