The Village at Torrey Pines is an eight-building, 148-unit student-housing complex with full-service restaurant and retail market was designed by architect Boone Hellmann to meet LEED certification standards, setting a standard in identifying and implementing measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions.

MVE Institutional served as Executive Architect for this UCSD student housing project. The LEED Silver equivalent project features 1,020 beds in various building forms including one 15-story residential tower with a conference pavilion, two four-story podium buildings, and five three- and four-story on-grade buildings. Other amenities include a student bookstore, convenience store, laundry and mail facilities.

This project includes housing for 1,020 students in various kinds of buildings. A residential tower with a conference pavilion on the 15th floor overlooks the adjacent Torrey Pines State Reserve and the Pacific Ocean. Nearby are two four-story podium buildings, as well as five three- and four-story on-grade buildings. These buildings consist of flats and townhomes with floor plans that can accommodate two to eight beds per unit. Other features include a bookstore with an attached convenience store, the Village Market; two laundry facilities; and a mail facility. The complex was designed to the LEED silver level.
