Located in the 102-year-old Rambo Building in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, this restaurant & bar design was inspired as a modern interpretation of Gaslamp's provocative past.
Drawing on elements of intimacy & opulence of classic French Boudoirs, this 'Dining Room & Social House' has a variety of experiences for every kind of dining experience including a 12 seater communal table, three drapery lined booths & 25 seater grand centerpiece bar.
At every possible location materials transition between classic & contemporary always meandering between a reference to the past & to the present. Herringbone tiling, stainless steel mosaics, the warmth of wood paneling along the walls & above the bar flooded by sensual red lighting, & classic black & white photography printed on metal dibond panels...the materials used are all intended to make the space feel clean & modern, yet warm & comfortable.
8' high windows along 4th Ave pivot open to allow the animation of the restaurant & bar to spill out onto streetscape creating a playful connection between inside & out while at the same time referencing a Parisian style sidewalk cafe dining experience.
