Dawn to Dusk mosaic tile collages at Lomas Santa Fe at I-5 Interchange

Four mosaic tile collages by San Diego artist Mary Lynn Dominguez were integrated into freeway interchange walls to mitigate visual impacts from the freeway interchange expansion. The collages adorn four curved retaining walls extending from the I-5 Bridge on the east and west sides at Lomas Santa Fe Drive in Solana Beach. Each mural is approximately 4.5 feet tall and over 40 feet long. The vibrant collages are titled, "Dawn to Dusk", colorfully depicting waves, seaweed and other ocean forms. The two west facing mosaics are identical to the east facing mosaics, except in hue to contrast dawn and dusk. Ms. Dominguez spent a year and a half in her art studio ordering, arranging, cutting, assembling and boxing glass tile mats.
