North America’s very first all-electric car sharing network was launched right here in San Diego, in November of 2011, deploying over 300 electric drive vehicles that will get you where you need to go, using no gas in the process. Car2Go’s space on 9th Avenue in downtown San Diego represents the innovative quality of their concept flawlessly. The front public entry area features lots of clear glass, crisp white walls, fresh branding and smart design elements, suggestive of the clean technology of its zero-emission fleet.
In the back office area, industrial accents harken back to the space’s former iterations, including a café and clothing boutique. The glass walled conference room, flanked by wood barn doors and featuring a dramatic steel table and light fixtures, work unpredictably well with the company’s color palette and signage, and the logo incorporated into the metal handle of the front door ties it all together. Ultimately, Car2Go owns it, and have created a fun, engaging and multi-dimensional presence with big personality in their original U.S. location.

The juxtoposition between the front of house design that reflects CAR2GO's colors & overall branding, with the back of house industrial steel/concrete/wood combination that has been prevelant in Basile Studio's recent works makes this interior design Orchid worthy.

BASILE Studios transformed this abandoned industrial space into a office+retail anchor for this international company. The existing shell space was returned back to its original condition revealing layers of rich textures. Fixed aluminum storefront was replaced by operable steel windows and door.
