BASILE Studio collaborated with architect Jared Bradley and owner Steve Riley to develop a series of custom details for the Big Front Door, a new concept restaurant in North Park. Beginning with the obvious namesake, BASILE devised a 12-foot clear-span pivot I-beam door. To reinforce the door's long span, a 2-sided stainless steel flip-up counter was engineered to operate with a single lever (up when open, down when closed).
Other details, such as the rolling ladder, retail display shelves, and menu boards were developed specifically for this space and its everyday functions.
