County of San Diego - Fallbrook Branch Library

orchid
The community of Fallbrook worked hard for over 10 years to make our new library come true. We knew we would eventually get a new library but what the County and the architects achieved exceeded our wildest wishes. Not only do we now have a community center that really reflects the spirit of Fallbrook, we also have state of the art information technology that combines traditional library resources with a wealth of computers capacity. The way art created by our local artists has been embedded in the building together with sustainable features like the green roof and tons of natural light creates a very powerful, comfortable and energetic place that feels like it has always been the central feature of downtown Fallbrook. This is a new library with strong connections to both our past and our future.

I love, love, love the Fallbrook Library!! It is an orchid, for sure! It is the pride of our community and so many helped to make it so!

This is a bright star in our community. A real community gathering space.

A treasure for the

A treasure for the community! It's wonderful to watch how busy the library is; patrons of all ages taking advantage of all the offerings and in such a user friendly space.

You need to experience the atmosphere of this building to appreciate what a gem it is. Too bad the photo of the garden room does not show the spectacular sculptural tile artwork and fountain...

Not your typical library but

Not your typical library but that's what makes it fantastic. It's lively for the kids and comfortable for adults. Fallbrook is lucky to have this in their community. Great job!

I visited this library last

I visited this library last month and I loved it. The design is great and it is a different approach. It does not look like a typical library. I really like the bright colors and the artist's work.

Great place for kids!

This library is phenomenal. My kids love coming here on the weekend and spend time in the kids room.

Blendomatic architecture.

Ladies and Gentleman may I introduce the incredible "Blendo." It takes every design style known to mankind for the past 15 years, mixes thoroughly at high speed. Final product is served on toast. Aggggh.

Fallbrook Library

Incredible mosaic art, beautiful building!

Job Well Done!

This library is inviting and gorgeous, while still eco-friendly. You CAN have it all...It should be held up as an example of a job well done! The residents of Fallbrook are very lucky!

Fallbrook Library

Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful architecture and landscaping!

Future of Community

This project exemplifies how libraries should evolve from static repositories of books, to dynamic hubs of community, connection, and learning. Well done MOA and FPBA!

ART Everywhere! and books

The reproduction of the pictures attached doesn't seem to do this library justice. In person, the colors are so much more vibrant and the artwork is that much more incredible; especially the handmade tile murals like the one shown above and others in the outside reading area. The library seems organized pretty well to give space to every age group and a good amount of natural light makes its way to the interior, but very little direct light or glare. I can say the same of the exterior reading patio thanks to being sunken below grade and having an artistic covering that diffuses the direct sunlight. This is a building that can be visited...for free, and should be...often! A must see, worth the drive to Fallbrook!

One of the last?

Great to see a NEW library when so few are being built and mega-book stores are going out of business! Long live the actual paper BOOK!

Great Gift for the Fallbrook Community

This library is a great gift to our community.

Great Addition to the Community

Fantastic new space for Fallbrook! Filled with light, great finishes, creative artwork to stimulate both the brain and senses, and a functional layout. I look forward to using it for many years to come!

Very Unique

I have been to many libraries in San Diego, but this particular one is so different from all the other ones. It is really modern and my favorite place is the reading garden at the patio. It is very nice and calm there and very cozy.

Wonderful!

The design celebrates the commitment this community has made to creating a cultural hub for learning. Really beautiful and dynamic!

Art and Architecture

Fallbrook has delighted our senses with the creative integration art in this light filled facility. What a wonderful showcase of the artistic and architectural talents that contributed to this welcoming place.

Creative and Exciting!

The old library was replaced with something modern and sustainable, ultimately creating a great signature building for the community of Fallbrook. I had the chance to see the building first hand at the open house event earlier this year. Everywhere you look there are cool and wonderful details. The space is casual, modern, and definitely brings the outside in with plenty of natural light. The “Green” roof is amazing in its size and variety of succulents. I wish I was a kid again so I could play and learn in the themed “kids” areas of the library, the larger than life books and bugs are awesome! Incorporating the works of the local artists into the various parts of the library is seamless, functional and inspiring all at the same time.
