Comments:

Orchid

Uhh, so this won an Orchid a few years back. The general consensus among San Diegans is that this is a quality public art piece. Indeed, at almost every Humphreys concert across the street, the park is full of families and couples enjoying a picnic before the show. Wake up and think outside the box.

wow...

Way to think inside the box. Maybe they should have put up another Starbucks to keep the close-minded masses happy.

whos to say

Who decides if something is an orchid or an oinion, and why do we have to label people's hard work as onions? the two other comments about this piece say that they like it and so do I...I think any public art has value and we should not label them as "onions" when someone spent a lot of their valuable time on creating a piece of art

Please

Just because someone works hard does not mean the work has merit beyond the individual's perspective. Design 101.

Pacific Portal

I think it's nice and gives the area more of a artsy look. Better than seeing living portraits of homeless people covering the island landscape laying all over the grass area that was common for many years prior.

inoffensive

this work is pretty inoffensive. There's some great tile work underneath.
