It's the 800 pound gorillia in the downtown room/boom. Now can you ignore the difficulty this building project has had and then for it to be just standard large structure, no real bells and whistles after all the best promises to be best quality. It's just quantity, period.

Just another high-end condo building

The Vantage Point Condos is a nice building, however I would argue that area needs less high-end residences and more mid-level residences. While the project was likely conceived during the good days of the real estate boom, the city seems saturated with high end residences that cannot be sold. It is also unclear from the pictures and information whether or not it is a mixed-use building or not. Mixed use would be more appropriate for its downtown setting, allowing the building to contribute both to housing and commerce.

Orchid. Beautiful clean lines and warm colors invite the public and don’t threaten the eye. Another structure with an art deco feel, the protruding purple fin from the front accentuates a type of symmetry in the asymmetry. The gem to this building has to be in its interior appeal, the exterior alone has no distinct feature that compels public gathering. The beauty of this structure is mild and not that deviated from any other regular downtown building. Because of that it does fit the context of the local environment. This structure should be considered among architecture instead of urban design.
