Harney Sushi Oceanside

orchid
Harney Sushi's new Oceanside restaurant conveys the same ultra-hip vibe of its popular San Diego original but with a creative infusion of all new elegance and modern "green" design thanks to Bluemotif Architecture. The new Oceanside space features clean contemporary lines paired with a palette of select reusable and recycled materials such as reclaimed wood, low V.O.C paints, Vetrazzo counters and 3-form glazing. The 3,500-square-foot open interior and 425-square-foot patio offer seating for 185 and include both sake and sushi bars, a VIP room, built in DJ booth, 600-gallon fish tank, waterfall backdrop, and an ethanol fireplace.

Harney's Oceanside location

Harney's Oceanside location is relaxing and tranquil, but not in the boring sense, as it is not lacking in any visual interest. Original artwork on the walls, fantastic color scheme, and use of a variety of materials brings the restaurant together very well. BlueMotif Architecture has designed the space beautifully, as is a constant in their designs. There is nothing typical about any of their work, and the thoughtfully designed Harney Sushi just furthers that notion. Plus, the food is outstanding too!

Beautiful!

I just attended an event held at this space and it was sleek and striking. Excellent work!

Such a great feel

They had such a great team on the place with the owners Bluemotif and Blueprint Contracting, Inc. They opened in 3 months from start of construction.

Matt Ellis and Bluemotif do such great work!

This is such a great place! Gret design as usual from Matt!

Big plus for Oceanside

Another nominator had this to say about the project: "Zen meets hip at Harney Sushi Oceanside. The symbolic separation of space by use of color and material (fire, water, metal, wood and earth) allow the long space to provide distinct dining atmospheres while still allowing each diner to enjoy the ambiance in its totality. In addition to several unique design details, the use of vibrant red backlit metal wall decor and Skyy Vodka blue counters provides an interesting take on creating a hip environment that speaks to the aspects of Feng Shui. A definite plus for Oceanside!"

I'm starting to notice this

I'm starting to notice this architect (Matthew Ellis) more and more. I'm really impressed with his work. Cowboy Star is just as impressive.

Nice interior

I really enjoyed the the attention to detail in this space. Sleek, modern, Hip....its a great space.
