Comments:

this is a great park

I just wonder how many people who live in the community actually use the park. I have been there quite a few times and every person I talked to didnt live there. I just hope now it doesnt go to waste. It was a great time.

Splash Park

This Splash Park is great, when it decides to work. Even during the proper hours the button to make it flow doesn't wortk. The staff is extremely unhelpful and unwilling to help fix it. Its pretty frusterating considering we pay ALOT in HOA fees.

Splash Pad at Pioneer Park

We need to inform everybody that Pioneer Park (which has the splash park) is a PRIVATE facility for residents of 4S Ranch ONLY--that is right: members only! There is signage posted on the splash pad at Pioneer Park that users of the facility must belong to 4S Ranch Master Association. Homeowners of 4S pay dues for the maintenance of this park, which has been 'invaded' by nonresidents, causing untimely wear and tear, and severe damage - on a PRIVATE facility designed for the exclusive use of the 4S community. The Staff works nonstop to keep the park properly maintained, with maintenance and service checks two or three times per week. The Board is now conducting research on the installation of fencing and locks on the park area at an exorbitant cost to the 4S Ranch members - all because of the constant trespassing and abuse by nonresidents. We request that you kindly inform all users in your member groups who are NOT members of 4S Ranch Association to refrain from using the facility. This is a PRIVATE PARK and all trespassers will now be cited without proper evidence of residency. Those using the park and splash pad must be able to prove their residency at 4S Ranch. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

4S Ranch kind....

You really know how to sound like a bunch of well to do, pompous snobs. My wife and 2 yr old son have frequented this park for quite awhile now and only found out today that it was a "members only" park. We live in the neighboring Rancho Bernardo community and she had thought this was a public park. Complain to the developers for not putting a locked fence around the park to keep the "invaders" out. "Invaded", "trespassers"....Sheez. Did you guys actually think that a water park this nice in the middle of San Diego would not attract non-residents? Now you guys have a security guard walking around asking for "Papers please". Nice little police state of a community you guys have going there. By the way, we are still coming until a locked fence is put up, so put pressure on that board to build it at that "exorbitant cost", as I am sure you guys can't afford it. That security guard doesnt scare us. "I'm a resident and I find it rediculous that you keep asking me for my residency! I'm not giving you my name! What is this, the Communism of home ownership?" That sounds like a good one to use next time.

All parks in 4S Ranch are

All parks in 4S Ranch are supported by HOA funds! I suppose since your HOA funds ONLY support Pioneer Park that you don't take your children to ANY other playgrounds in 4S Ranch? Consider putting a fence around it if you don't want to share with other 4S residents!

Fence

The HOA is putting a fence around the park to keep you and all non 4S Ranch residents out.

4S Master Assn.

If you pay HOA fees to the 4S Master Association you are able to use ALL parks in our neighborhood- not just Pioneer Park. I don't think that's what that poster was saying. He or she was simply stating that as 4S residents we pay good money for us and other residents to use it...not people bringing their kids from all over the county. And I'm sure after hearing that a kid from Solana Beach exposed everyone to the measles last week, it doesn't help the case for people who think everyone should be able to use it.

Pioneer Park

It's a great park for kids, and despite what the press and HOA claim, here are the true facts: * The "guard" that checks IDs only works there part time, and can only politely request your identification. He is not allowed to do anything else, other than to ask for ID and request that you leave if you don't have one. * Anyone other than the "guard" is not allowed to harass visitors. If some random person asks you for ID, you are not required to respond. * All they can do is request that a sheriff come and ask you to leave. This will take at least 1/2 hour, and more likely an hour or more, since the sheriff does not have the resources to respond to frivolous requests to remove families from parks. The sheriff has never ticketed anyone for playing in this park. Take this time to enjoy the park. I'm sure if the sheriff keeps getting calls to respond to "non resident chil using our playground", they will prioritize it very low, and focus on other "crimes". Until this so called "fence" is built, continue to enjoy this park.
