“Engagement,” is a large-scale sculpture by noted artist Dennis Oppenheim. The work is intended to remind the viewer that marriage requires a balance between two people with different interests, tastes and backgrounds. “Engagement” represents the dichotomy of marriage, expressing the romantic and the melancholy.

They really are ugly and driving by them wihtout the 3 seconds of perfect lighting shown in the picture, you really have no idea what they are. The "diamond" if that is really what it is depicting is not even "mounted" right. I just assumed it was an ugly light fixture of some kind not art.

THIS IS STUPID! IT'S UGLY! This will only encourage people never to get married. It looks like the work of a bunch of sugar-high third graders. They should at least hang some swings from it and get some use out of it.
