COWBOY STAR RESTAURANT AND BUTCHER SHOP

ORCHID FOR INTERIOR DESIGN

Jury Comments: Saddle up everyone! This is a 1950’s Hollywood Western colliding with modern-industrial sophistication… and it might just knock the spurs off your boots. This chic new restaurant in East Village is fine dining in the Old West. Warm and inviting, part of the charm of the interior space is the preservation of the old brick warehouse combined with new stainless steel accents, oversized wood timbers, modern light fixtures, black hot-rolled steel and wood floors. They didn’t forget the cowhide chairs either! This dramatic interplay between the historic shell and chic interior creates a unique and memorable dining experience. This is the type of project that helps make East Village memorable!

Remodel of existing brick building from the 1920's to accommodate a new neighborhood restaurant and butcher shop.

Comments:

meh

A little too busy for me. Quite unresolved. While I enjoyed my visit, the design seemed too immature for the level of quality found at this restaurant. This is only my opnion though and my congratulations goes out to whoever the interior designer is.

The photos say it all.

The photos say it all. This is a plus for East Village. This is a great place to just hang out, but can equally double as an upscale dining venue. It's warm, comfortable and inviting. The open kitchen is a cool feature. The heavy wood with exposed metal joinery and cowhide furnishings complete the scene.
